to the kind, sincere and good
Marguerite Audoux
with faithful admiration
and the affectionate memory of his old
Edmond Rocher
Happy New Year 1936

A letter sent by Edmond Rocher to Marguerite Audoux to thank her for the gift of a copy of From the Town to the Mill ("this beautiful book, so healthy, so cleverly written, that I had followed from the beginning.ns Le Journal") attests to a certain closeness between the two writers. A tragedy in Rocher's family, however, seems to have interrupted their correspondence for a long time. (Archives Marguerite Audoux n°314).

This book is part of the catalogue devoted to Marguerite Audoux that we have just published online, and is available on our website.
