Autograph letter-card signed and addressed to Jean de ReszkeThéâtre de Monte Carlo on 6 January 1893:
Monday 6 Jan 93
My dear Jean,
Thank you for your dispatch, which filled us with joy. We are still under the spell of your admirable interpretation of Romeo, too fleeting alas! What are we awful Americans to hold you back?
My best regards to you and your dear Edouard, and my best wishes to Mr Schutz.
Yours sincerely Ch. Gounod
