FIRST EDITIONbearing the date 20 June on the printer's proof.
Copies dated 29 May, which were scrapped because of a layout error, are rare.
One of 3300 copies of the current edition on laid paper, under ordinary cover, after 500 copies on Arches laid paper under blue cover. One of the copies printed by mistake without the dedication to Ruyters.

Curious binding half-taffeta embroidered with silk and metal threads interlaced to form a complex plant motif.
