Beautiful set of 19 woodcut dies by Gus Bofa for Gulliver's travels, published by Editions du Nord (Brussels) in 1929.
Includes the cover vignette for volume II and 18 of the 36 lamp-ends (Lilliput ch. I, II, V, VI ; Brobdingnag ch. II, III, IV, V ; Laputa ch. III, IV, VII ; Houyhnhnms ch. I, II, III, V, VI, VIII, XI).

Georges Charensol, seeking to define the artistic tradition to which Gus Bofa belonged, emphasised the influence of eighteenth-century English humour - particularly that of Swift - on his work. Marc Orlan described him as "the best interpreter of social fantasy in illustration".
