Description

CORRECTED PROOFS Sainte-Beuve's introduction to the second edition of the Memoirs by Fléchier on the Grand Days of Auvergne. Most of the pages contain typographical corrections, additions or word changes. Two pages have a sentence added in the margin.

THE WHOLE IS CORRECTED IN SAINTE-BEUVE'S HAND AND SIGNED FOUR TIMES.

This second edition, published in 1865, 21 years after the original, was largely the wish of Sainte-Beuve. Copies of the first edition were hard to find and expensive. Published after a new collation of the text on the manuscript in the Clermont Library, it was augmented not only by Sainte-Beuve's important introduction but also by notes and an appendix by M. Chéruel.
