Henri de Régnier

Alphonse and Julie Daudet's library stamp on the first white endpaper.

Henri de Régnier met Alphonse Daudet in the Goncourts' "attic"; he later frequented Julie Daudet's Salon, which cited him, along with Rodenbach and Jammes, as the representative of "the French poet".a host of new poets outside contemporary Parnassus" (Memories of a literary group).

A superb copy, very well established by Paul Vié in a Japanese binding using gilt embossed paper and Japanese print endpapers. One of the Goncourts' regular bookbinders, Paul Vié is frequently associated with Japanese binding.
