We are enclosing :

  • a full-length photographic portrait of Gabriel Nigon in military uniform, photo-card addressed to Maurice Guénée with this autograph text on the back: " My dear Maurice, I shall be delighted to dine with you tomorrow evening. Please let me know the time! Yours affectionately GND".
  • An autograph letter signed and addressed to Marguerite Itasse - 3 pages, 14 x 18 cm, preserved envelope, stamped 26 02 1920 : " [...] I am deeply touched that you are able to share with me everything that concerns the memory of your dear brother! Contrary to what usually happens, the memory of such people grows stronger with the years! I understand more than ever, in the midst of today's sad and discouraging existence, the terrible loss that the disappearance of such a noble heart and high intelligence on 23 February 1915 represents for those who remain! [...] Maurice certainly deserved the Officer's Cross of the Legion of Honour ten times over! Never mind the decrees and circulars! Let's take our side in the injustice of men! Maurice has long since taken his rightful place in our minds, the first place!"
