According to Clouzot, the work was "1250 copies were printed in four fictitious editions, the last three of which were labelled third, fourth and fifth editions. These are sold at a much lower price than the first edition, which, with no mention of the edition, has a print run of around 300 copies and is quite sought after".
Steel-engraved frontispiece by C. Cousin after Louis Boulanger, printed on blue chine appliqué, entitled "Clair de lune", wood-engraved vignette on the title, representing the Djinns, by Louis Boulanger.
