Description

FIRST EDITION.
ONE OF 179 NUMBERED COPIES ON ARCHES VELIN, the only large paper edition.
Shortlisted for the Prix Goncourt, The Possibility of an Island was finally awarded the Prix Interallié.
In 2008, Michel Houellebecq adapted it for the screen, starring Benoît Magimel in the title role of Daniel.

This copy is in a decorated binding by Anne Giordan, produced in 2011. The boards, decorated with abstract, cold and repetitive geometric motifs, convey the atmosphere of the novel: a post-human, aseptic world, the confinement and stereotyped communication of cloned characters.
