Description
AUTOGRAPH POEMdedicated to Gérard Vulliamy, on the back of a mourning slip.
"The fire put the party in order
and destroying the walls destroyed the windows
He unfurled the glasses of drunkenness
He fills them with the counterweight of wisdom
It developed like a brain without a head
Winning on looks on voices on gestures
Pass through the greenery and you live a head
Welcoming the day and the freshness of the air."
Another manuscript of the poem, augmented by 4 distiches inserted before the last two lines, will feature in the "Le Cheval de Troie" exhibition devoted to Gérard Vulliamy (2 to 20 December 1971).
Faded leaf, browned in the margins (trace of a frame).
