As usual, Alidor Delzant has added a number of autographed items to the copy:
- In a passage recalling the author's youth : a signed autograph by Paul de Saint-Victor listing posts requested by voters. It was intended for Alphonse Lamartine, who was minister at the time and whose assistant he was.
- In the chapter about Alice Ozi, a friend of the author whom he courted for a long time:
an autograph letter signed by the famous actress Alice Ozi, : "[...]No need to warn you. I'll be waiting for you until next Thursday, every day from 1am to 3pm. […]" - In the chapter on the meeting between Saint-Victor and the Goncourt brothers : an autograph note from Edmond de Goncourt, list of acquisitions and information.
- An autograph letter signed by Alphonse Lamartine: "M. Lamartine asks the editor of the Lettre to give M. de St Victor, the bearer of this note, any proofs he may have of the Confidences [...]"
- In the passage dealing with the writing of his book Aeschylus, an autograph preparatory note by Paul de Saint-Victor.
- An autograph poem by Paul de Saint-Victortwo quatrains.
A very elegant copy, tastefully bound in full Bradel vellum with small flaps; it was probably bound by Pierson, who almost exclusively bound works by Alidor Delzant.
