This is probably Abraham Dreyfus (1847-1926), a journalist and playwright who worked with Daudet on the Theatre in the countryside and Literary and Artistic Review in the 1870s.

Collection of seventeen short storiesLes Contes du lundi are inspired by the events of the Franco-Prussian War, in particular the siege of Paris, the Commune and the repression by the Versaillais. The author's most famous work, along with Letters from my mill.

A fine copy, finely bound by Yseux, with an elegantly mosaic spine.

Bound by Yseux, Simier's successor. Red half-maroquin with corners, spine decorated with mosaic bands of green morocco, gilt fillets, gilt head. Title and date gilt. Cover restored, spine not preserved.
