Description
On the back, a stamp in red ink:
"MAN RAY 31 bis. Rue de Campagne Première PARIS".
In 1922, Man Ray rented the rue de Campagne studio. He stayed there until the early 1930s, working alongside Marcel Duchamp, before moving to rue Denfert Rochereau. During this period, he was already "an established photographer" and took on many commissions, of which this portrait is probably one.
A very fine original print by the greatest surrealist photographer.
Paris,Undated [1925]. 230 mm x 170 mm,
