In 1988, when Gallimard took over Futuropolis, a luxury edition illustrated by Tardi of Journey to the end of the night by Louis-Ferdinand Céline. Death on Credit and Pipe breaker followed and the Futuropolis-Gallimard collection, which had become famous, was soon enriched by new artists (Loustral, Hyman, Baudoin, Götting, Veyron, Juillard...) to illustrate Le Clezio, Kafka, Proust, Sollers, Pergaud...
