Description

ICONOGRAPHIC ARCHIVE OF THE HOUSE OF BOURBON-ORLÉANS from the archives of royalist activist Tristan Lambert.
The archive covers a period from the sons of Louis Phillippe I, King of the French, to the generation of Philip VIII, who twice suffered the exile of members of the House of Orléans.

It includes a beautiful watercolour signed the "Château d'Eu, Park side"by L. Robert (1841), a physionotrace and 27 vintage photographic prints, most of them signed.

Baron Tristan Lambert (1846-1929) was the son of Baron Aimé Lambert, Napoleon III's venry commander. Although he had served the Bonapartist cause in the aftermath of the Franco-Prussian War, he joined the ranks of the monarchists on the death of Louis-Napoléon Bonaparte, the only son of Napoléon III and Eugénie, in 1876. He successively supported Henri d'Artois and Louis-Philippe Albert d'Orléans. Tristant Lambert was the dean of the Fédération nationale des Camelots du roi, a militant branch of the Action française nationalist movement that supported the House of Orléans.
