"HebdoremosGiorgio De Chirico's autobiographical fantasy, is something of a paradox. Although relatively few studies have been devoted to it, its place outside the realm of Surrealist literature has never been in doubt. And yet, given De Chirico's opposition to what he called the the disorder of the avant-garde - already ten years old when Hebdoremos appears in 1929, since it goes back to his adherence to the values of the Valori plastici group. Is it not simply the result of a quick observation of the unusual and irrational aspects that none of the commentators on this story have failed to underline?
