A member of the French Resistance, Pierre de Bénouville (1912-2001) probably met André Verdet through the Fight. In April 1944, Pierre de Bénouville, alias General Barrès, was wanted by the Gestapo and smuggled across the Spanish border to Algiers, where he took the name Duroc, the same alias as André Verdet, who was in the Buchenwald camp at the time.
Small tear at foot caused by wide margins. Good condition.
