ENSEMBLE DES RECHERCHES DU PEINTRE FERNAND DUBUIS - GOUACHES, MONTAGES TYPOGRAPHIQUES, ÉPREUVES - for the illustrated edition of Scheler's poem by Lucien, Qhat will happen?

The final work comprises 9 linocuts by Fernand Dubuis assembled in accordion format, inside which the poem is printed. Published in 1984 by the author on behalf of the Thomas Scheler bookshop, 90 copies were printed on Arches pure chiffon, signed by the author and the artist. We enclose a copy.

This model includes :

  • An uncut proof of the poem (6 pages)
  • Manuscript of the colophon text (1 page)
  • Two complete typographical composition essays of the entire poem, cut and pasted text (20 pages)
  • 36 original full-page gouaches - colour research - three of which include a text collage (36 pages). The gouaches are very fresh and the colours have remained vibrant.
  • Example of a printed composition (2 pages)
  • Two text layout search layers (2 pages)
  • A final linocut proof including the printed text (2 pages)

The whole, mounted on tabs, has been bound in half morocco with coloured Plexiglas boards. The endpapers have been perforated to reveal the composition of the text.
