FIRST FRENCH EDITION published two years after the original edition edited by Reynal & Hitchcock in New York on April 6, 1943.

This edition, printed by Gallimard on 30 November 1945 in 1,750 copies, has a cardboard cover typical of the first edition: blue imitation-toile, smooth spine with red title, first plate titled and illustrated with the silhouette of the Little Prince in red from a drawing by the author on page 97. Copies of this edition also have a unique composting number stamped on the page below the finished print.

The book was to be offered for sale for the Christmas holidays in 1945 but was not distributed until April 1946.

Exemplary without dust jacket with lightened back, good condition inside.
