STUNNING SET OF SIX EMBOSSED LEATHER BINDINGS drawn up by Andrée, an amateur bookbinder, at the beginning of the 20th century.

The six full calf bindings are decorated on the first cover with stained and embossed leather depicting a face, in keeping with the book's theme. The back covers are bordered and decorated with gilt friezes, and all the endpapers are embroidered silk.

    ORIGINAL EDITION with a preface by Georges Docquois.
    This rare account of a nurse during the Great War is frequently cited in studies of women's involvement in the war effort.
    He was awarded the Silver Medal for Epidemics.

    This diary from the front by Henri Barbusse during the First World War appeared as a serial in the daily newspaper L'Œuvre from 3 August 1916, then in volume at the end of November of the same year, published by Flammarion. It was awarded the Prix Goncourt.

    ORIGINAL EDITION in Spanish.
    A Lebanese diplomat in the Ottoman Empire, Emin Arslan (1868-1943) was consul in Bordeaux, Brussels, Paris and Buenos Aires. He wrote books and articles in Arabic and Spanish, as well as numerous articles for French newspapers. Copy enriched with a postcard bearing the effigy of Emin Arslan with his autograph signature.
