Jean Mélia (1871-195?) was a journalist, chief of staff to the Governor General of Algeria and director of the French High Commission in Syria. Algeria and the war (1918), awarded the Prix Montyon by the Académie Française.

Bound in the original binding with the covers.

Bound in contemporary style. Half basane, burgundy, spine ribbed with gilt fleurons and gilt title, two covers preserved. Small cracks to the spines, rubbing, spine lightened, corners rubbed.
