Description

FIRST EDITION compiled and annotated by Laurant and Véronique Boyer.

ONE OF THE 69 EXAMPLES on pure thread vellum, the only large paper print.

Imposing newspaper covering "the last years of Paul Morand's life, from June 1968 to April 1969: thirty-two handwritten notebooks, deposited at the Bibliothèque Nationale and one last unfinished notebook forming part of the Morand collection, collected after his death by the Bibliothèque de l'Institut de France.
In accordance with the author's wishes, their content was not to be consulted or published before the year 2000. His intention was to protect them from the indiscretions and comments of his contemporaries. (Publisher's disclaimer)

"Jacques Chardonne had a tame tiger. The tiger's tongue was so rough that blood appeared on the master's skin. Caught between the taste of blood and the love of its master, the tiger trembled; then let out a roar and fled never to return." (18 November 1969).

Uncommon.
