Description

SECOND AUTHORIZED EDITION, in wrappers with RARE PUBLISHERS' OBI.
Lady Chatterley's Lover was first published in a print-run of 1,000 copies by Orioli Press in Florence (1928); copies of this "obscene" novel were seized, raising the public's curiosity, and pirate editions were immediately released by no less than 4 publishers. In an introduction written specifically for this 1929 popular edition, "My Skirmish with Jolly Roger", D. H. Lawrence recounts his struggles with censorship and rogue publishers.
