NEW RICHLY ILLUSTRATED EDITION 500 woodcuts, including 15 frontispieces, after E. Bayard, de Neuville, Brion, Des Brosses, J.-P. Laurens, E. Morin, H. Scott, Vierge, Adrien Marie, Valnay, Lix, E. Delacroix, E. Zier, H. Vogel, Hersent, Haenens, Benett, V. Hugo, F. Méaulle, Martin Lanseval, Bellenger, Quesnel, Froment, Gillot.
The work appeared in 233 issues published between 1879 and 1882 and sold for 10 centimes. The complete work was then sold for 24 fr.
There is a deluxe edition on China paper limited to 50 copies.

A fine copy with marbled edges, elegantly bound in the period in 5 volumes titled Fantine, Cosette, Marius, L'Idylle rue Plumet and J. Valjean.
