Sir, You may consider the information on Ternove to be accurate, as far as these things go. It was given to me by a fervent Gobinist, the very author of the collection about which I had wanted to write. But the rarity of books is like the virtue of women: we are all the more certain of it the less we have insisted on it..
An entire edition doesn't disappear in fifty years. But even if a few others were to be found, alongside yours, Ternove, would still be very rare. It's a curiosity, and I congratulate the bibliophile. [...]
