Copy of Georges Ascoli (1882-1944), ex-libris, bound at the beginning of the 20th century and complete with all covers. A literary critic, Professor of Letters and holder of the chair of literary history of nineteenth-century France at the Sorbonne, he was wounded in the First World War, but wanted to enlist in the Second. He died in Auschwitz, a victim of Nazi barbarism.
