Description
Original klecksographic drawing in black ink by Marie-Laure de Noailles.
In a process that was very fashionable in the late nineteenth and early twentieth centuries, an ink stain is made on a sheet of paper, which is then folded in two to split it. Here, the Viscountess de Noailles has also doubled her signature (Marie Laure), and enhanced the ink drawing to reveal a female silhouette, a face crowned with a moon...
Annotated in pencil on the back "6A5 / ML de Noailles".
The design was sent to Valentine Hugo, accompanied by a signed autograph postcard (Statue of Victor Hugo) :
"For my dear Valentine, in memory of a lot of cold, snow and stupidity, to forget the ugly car and remember Aragon's eloquence - which surpasses all politics - and also to say hello to her
29 June 1951 With all my affection
Marie-Laure"
The postcard is enhanced with elements drawn in black ink and the handwritten words "Vive Hugo" "et Valentine".
