It includes 33 particularly charming, romantically inspired drawings:
a battle scene and a lion executed in ink wash, probably master studies; 9 figures in costume from eastern France, executed in graphite, with for two figures the beginnings of colouring in ink wash and watercolour; 2 trees sketched in graphite, and a foliage decoration executed in stencil; 18 landscapes from eastern France with buildings (thatched cottages, churches, houses on stilts) sketched in graphite.
