SIGNED AUTOGRAPH CONSIGNMENT to Marguerite Audoux
A Marguerite Audoux
very tenderly
George Besson
It was probably through Francis Jourdain that Marguerite Audoux met the art critic George Besson. In the summer of 1910, she stayed with him for a while in Saint-Claude (Jura), where she drew inspiration for her story "Valserine" (published in the collection The Bride).
Founder of Cahiers d'aujourd'hui, In the 5th issue of the magazine (June 1913), George Besson published the beginning of Suicide, abandoned suite of Marie-Claire (although some passages are included in From the town to the mill).
This book is part of the catalogue devoted to Marguerite Audoux that we have just published online, and is available on our website.
