The archetypal "little romantic", Théodore Tuffier, from Malzieu in Lorèze, published clonesome reveries, fantastic poems and odes to the glory of Napoleon. In addition to the addition of a frontispiece portrait of the author after H. Reybeaud, this second edition includes a prose text of some forty pages, "Preliminary speeche", the author's reflections on Romantic poetry. A final edition, published by Lacroix in 1855, was augmented by National Songs.

Contemporary midnight blue morocco, smooth spine decorated with gilt and cold-stamped fillets, gilt roulette and fleuron, gilt title, gilt and cold-stamped fillets on covers with fleurons in spandrels, gilt roulette on corners, gilt inner roulette, squared silk endpapers, gilt edges, bookmark. Slight rubbing, corners rubbed, small leather chips on lower board. Good condition inside.
