FIRST FRENCH STAGE ADAPTATION of As You Like it, translated and arranged by George Sand.
As you wish was first performed at the Comédie-Française on 12 April 1856, directed by Philoclès Régnier.

Copy of Henri-Polydore Maubant, one of the actors of the first play who played Le DucFrédéric's exiled brother. It bears Sand's autograph on the front cover: Mr Maubant and this autograph signed letter :

"To Mr Maubant
remembrance and thanks
George Sand"
