FIRST EDITION OF THIS BEAUTIFUL WORK, ENTIRELY SPOTTED WITH POCHOIR and remarkably laid out by Jacques Darche.

ONE-OFF PRINT RUN AT 85 NUMBERED COPIES SIGNED BY THE POET AND THE PAINTER (the first 35 copies with additions, ex. no. 46).

Published at the expense of an amateur, the book consists of 25 original gouaches and a Subtractive Relief by Albert Ayme (1920-2012), his first illustrated book. The following year saw the publication of a luxurious illustrated edition of Afternoon of a Faun followed by numerous collaborations with contemporary writers.

The copy is enriched with a signed offprint of Relief Soustractif. with this letter to the psychoanalyst Mohammed Masud Raza Khan (1924-1989):

(born in Montpellier on 27 March 1899 and died in Bar-sur-Loup, Alpes-Maritimes, on 6 August 1988).
