ONE OF 80 COPIES ON JAPANESE-STYLE PAPER blue, non-commercial edition reserved to the author and the most restricted (before, 100 copies on Holland and 500 copies on vellum).

Inscribed and signed by the author :

"For you, my dear Albert, another "blue" azure, azure, when you hold us... All my portraits are not worth the one you sign. I kiss you, Colette."

The addressee is most probably Albert Flament, a journalist close to the author who left several portraits of Colette that appeared in the press (We would like to thank Frédéric Maget for this identification.)

Gabrielle-Sidonie Colette

Born on 28 January 1873 in Saint-Sauveur-en-Puisaye (Yonne) - died on 3 August 1954 in Paris. Mime, actress and journalist, a French woman of letters known above all as a novelist, Colette was after Judith Gautier in 1910, the second woman elected member of the Goncourt academy in 1945, of which she became president between 1949 and 1954.
