AUTOGRAPH SIGNED LETTER:

"To the lovely Louise de la Blonde,
[In Alceste's armchair]
but please don't fall asleep...
Fred Bedoc "

Illustrated with 70 live sketches of theatre and music hall performers, captioned and reproduced in black, including 28 stencilled in colour: Lucien and Sacha Guitry, Ida Rubinstein, Madeleine Renaud, Mistinguett, Maurice Chevalier, etc.

"Alceste-Bedoc is an ironic fellow who draws with a yatagan, which could be embarrassing, but this yatagan has been perfumed with Coty Gold. He also writes verses. This is with Florian's beloved Estelle, but it still has sulphur wicks, like an Inquisition san-benito. Thus armed, my Bedoc fits into Alceste's caqueteuse, and he operates.
Here is Antoine à Lucullus - César-Prudhomme (with a touch of Pécuchet), here is Lugné, who is Poë like Edgar, minus the raven, but plus the (wild) duck. Sacha ventripes next to a candy-cane Yvonne Printemps. Signoret is like the god Ganeça; Max Dearly is an apothecary, Sylvain weighs himself at the right weight, Albert Lambert sounds like a tramway and de Max has psoriasis. QuanI à Ventchoura, c'est une Sàrah qui serait valaque. Dorville looks like chilled meat and Gaby Montbreuse like tissue paper. For Maud Loty, it looks like a dioecious orchid hybridised with an arum. There is also the spectator, dead to the pain.
This album is as entertaining as it gets. We need a sequel for the gendelettrie... "(Renée Dunan, French thoughtApril 1924).

Uncommon in big paper.
