All copies are NUMBERED ON NAVARRE PURE VELIN, limited editions of 150, 115, 125 and 125 copies respectively (the second paper after the Hollande editions).

An account of the author's youth, leading up to his meeting with Jean-Paul Sartre, Memoirs of a Young Girl in Order was not to be followed up.

"There's no point in telling the story of my vocation if I don't try to say how it came to be" (Foreword from La Force de l'âge). La Force de l'âge and The Force of Things will complete these memoirs. In 1972, eleven years after the release of the last instalment, the following was published All in allthe final autobiographical instalment: "When my essay was published, Old ageSome critics, some readers, have reproached me for not talking more about my old age. This curiosity has often seemed to me to be a kind of cannibalism rather than genuine interest. Nevertheless, it encourages me to complete my autobiography.
