FIRST PUBLISHING in the trade of the only short story by Charles Baudelaire.

La Fanfarlo is the third text of the Illustrated literary vigils (fifteenth delivery), after Miss de Kerouare of Jules Sandeau and Ihe Century of Virtues of Léopold Bougarre.

This news, first published in January 1847 in the Newsletter of the Society of People of LettersThis book, on pages 18-24 of the present issue, is illustrated with two woodcut figures of Édouard Frère by François Rouget.
Charles Asselineau, presents this news, in the Volume IV of the Complete Works (M. Lévy frères, 1869), as "the first written work of Charles Baudelaire". It is, in fact, the author's third writing after the salons of 1845 and 1846.
