Bix Beiderbecke became legendary both as the first great white musician and as the first cursed jazz artist. His elegant and refined playing also made him one of the precursors of cool.
His life, identical in many ways to that of F. Scott Fitzgerald and his Children of jazz, inhabited by fury and an evil of living, devoured by music and destroyed by alcohol, is the source of the Young Man with Trumpet Dorothy Baker's masterpiece, translated by Boris Vian who admired the musician.

Elegant binding signed Lavaux.

Paris,Gallimard,1951.In-12, Bound,292 pp.
