Okoma, Japanese novel illustrated by Felix Regamey based on text by Takizava-bakïn and drawings by Chiguenoi.

FIRST EDITION French and "A sought-after first printing of the strange amorous adventures of the unfortunate Okomade"(Carteret, T.IV, 374).
Vertical print, illustrated with 35 colour illustrations, 12 of which are full-page.
This famous novel by Takizava-Bakïn, published in Japan in 1813, was first serialised in the Illustrated World between August 1879 and March 1883.
This copy is enhanced by an original Indian ink drawing signed by Félix Régamey, titled Okoma and dated November 1882.

Bound in the publisher's illustrated paper boards and percaline spine. There are two other types of boards (silk and full percaline).
