Jeanne Roques, known as Musidora, (1889-1957), actress most famous for her role as Irma Vep in the series Vampires and for Diana in JudexShe was one of Louis Feuillade's favourite actresses and the muse of the Surrealists.
It was in Feuillade's team that she met actress Marthe Vinot, who went on to star in most of the director's films. Marthe Vinot married Pierre Blanchar in 1927; they had two daughters, Pierrette and Dominique. In 1932, when these portraits were created, the Blanchar sisters were aged 5 and 7.
