POSTER ISSUED IN ONLY 100 PRINTS in 1945 by Galerie Maeght for its inaugural exhibition from 7 to 29 December 1945: "Henri Matisse - Peintures, dessins, sculptures".
Five hundred copies of a quarto booklet were published, illustrated on the cover with a lithograph of a young woman holding a leaf bearing the words "...". I like this design ". This lithograph was later used on the poster and invitation card.
This poster was republished almost 15 years later, in 1959, by Mourlot, for the exhibition Original Posters By The Masters Of The Paris School, with the name Galerie Maeght on one line and without the address of the rue de Téhéran.
THIS VERY FIRST EDITION FROM 1945 IS EXTREMELY RARE.
