Autograph signed letter to the famous French lawyer and politician Joseph Paul-Boncour, countersigned by Suzanne Plon, who plays the role of Jean d'Arc in the play. :

"For Chairman Paul Boncour
in the memory of our friend and with the feelings
of respectful sympathy from
Jean Anouilh

The book is packed with three autograph letters signed by Jean Anouilh and one autograph letter signed by Suzanne Plon to the same addressee:

"Thank you for wanting to read Jeanne, my manuscript of Lark, torn, crossed out and illegible, and no one has any more...
but I've just corrected the proofs, I'll have a set in a few days and I'll send it to you as soon as I can. "

"Mr Chairman,
At the moment I can't go to bed and get up in the morning without throwing myself overboard. Can we meet after the 5th? Will you come to the theatre? And would you like to read Ornifle beforehand?
If you tell the theatre, we'll give you a manuscript [...]".

"Mr President,
I want to tell you - a little late - but I took the precaution of putting some montages between this Colombes and myself - how much I appreciate your approval.
Thank you for loving Colombe and for writing to me. I'm afraid that her life (if not her maternal life, which seems assured - at least the other one) will be quite difficult and that we'll 'hate' her just as much. [...]"

Nice provenance.
